FAQ
What does online presence include?
Everything that decides whether customers find and trust you online: your website, your Google Business Profile and Maps listing, your reviews, and whether AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity can read your business and name it. I set up and look after all of it, so you deal with one person instead of four.
Which AI tools do you optimize for?
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, plus the AI answers inside Google. They each work differently, but they reward the same things: a site they can read, real reviews and details that match everywhere.
What is GEO?
GEO stands for generative engine optimization. It is the work that helps AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity name your business when someone asks them for a recommendation. It covers how your site is built, your Google Business Profile and reviews, and keeping your details the same everywhere.
Can you guarantee I will show up first on Google or in ChatGPT?
No, and nobody honestly can. Google and AI tools decide what they show. What I can do is give your business every signal they look for and show you the results.
How does the free demo work?
I build your actual site, finished, before you pay anything. If it is not right, you walk away and owe nothing. If it is, you pay half, and the balance when it goes live on your domain.
What counts as an edit on the Updates plan?
One change to existing content, like a photo, a price, your hours, a menu item, a paragraph or a promo banner. The plan covers four edits a month for $49. Unused edits do not roll over, and new pages or features are quoted separately.
Do you only work with businesses in Montreal and Laval?
Most of my clients are in Montreal and Laval, but I also build for businesses elsewhere in Canada and in the United States.
How much does a website cost?
Most projects land between $1,500 and $4,000 as a one-time setup fee, plus hosting at $10 to $20 per month. The range depends on how many pages you need, how much content goes on each one, and whether you need extras like online payments, a booking system, or a blog. Simple sites sit at the lower end. You get an exact number after a conversation, not a guess.
What does "you do not pay until you approve" actually mean?
I build the entire site first. Not a mockup, not a wireframe, the finished thing. You look at it on a real link. If it is not right, you walk away and owe nothing, and no files change hands. If it is right, you pay half on approval and the other half when it goes live on your domain.
How long does it take?
Usually two to four weeks from the first call to a finished demo, depending on scope and how quickly you can get me your logo, photos and service details. The biggest delay on almost every project is waiting for content from the client, not the build itself.
Do you build in French and English?
Yes. Every site is built bilingual from the start, not translated at the end. The French is written for Quebec, not adapted from France French, so it reads the way your customers actually speak.
Who owns the website when it is done?
You do, once the final payment is made. The content, the copy, the images and the delivered code for your site are yours. I keep the right to show the finished work in my portfolio, which is what the work section of this site is, unless you ask me not to in writing.
What is included in hosting?
Keeping the site online, the SSL certificate, security monitoring and backups. It does not include content changes or new features. Content changes are covered by the Updates plan at $49 a month, and anything bigger is quoted separately, so you are not paying a monthly fee for work you are not asking for.
Do I really need a Google Business Profile?
If people search for your kind of business near where they are, yes. The map results sit above the regular search results, and for a barbershop, restaurant or contractor they usually send more customers than the website does. Setting it up, or cleaning up the one you already have, is included in every site I build as part of Google, Maps and AI search, and it is often the first thing worth getting right.
Can you fix my existing site instead of rebuilding it?
Sometimes. If it was built on a platform I can work with and the structure is sound, fixing it is cheaper and faster. If it is a template on a builder that fights back, or it has not been touched in five years, rebuilding costs less than repairing. I will tell you honestly which one you are looking at.
What happens if I need changes after launch?
Small changes to existing content are covered by the Updates plan: $49 a month for four edits, done within three business days. Outside the plan, or for new pages and features, email me and I will quote it. There is no mandatory retainer, and I do not lock the site so that only I can touch it.
Do you work with businesses outside Montreal?
Yes. Most of my clients are in Montreal and Laval, where I can meet in person, but I work with businesses across Canada and in the United States. The work happens the same way either way, over calls and email.
Do you write the content, or do I have to?
I write it. You tell me about the business, what you offer, and how you talk about it, and I turn that into the copy on the page. You approve every word before it goes live. If you already have content you like, I will work with it.
What do you need from me to get started?
Your logo as a vector file if you have one, real photos of your work or your space, your services with the names you actually use, your hours, address and phone, and your Google Business Profile link if you have one. If you do not have photos, tell me early and we will sort it out rather than filling the site with stock images.
Tell me what the business needs.
Send a message or call. If it turns into a project, you see the finished site before you pay anything.
